Music Education

Bishop Library resources for music education.

Where Should I Begin?

Reference sources provide a quick and effective way of locating factual or essential background information.

Reference resources include encyclopedias, dictionaries, handbooks, and statistical sources; they are excellent starting points for research.

Best starting point:  Music Online Reference.

Music Online Reference is a collection of over 169 full-text music reference sources.  These 169 full-text resources focus on African-American music, classical music, and world music.

Next source to check:  Oxford Music Online: a collection of several full-text reference sources dealing with music.

Supplement these full-text resources with print reference resources, found in Bishop Library, and listed in the center box. REF call numbers point to print sources found in Bishop Library.
