Photos, videos and audio taken with digital cameras and smartphones contain Exchangeable Image File (EXIF) information. Use this website to verify EXIF information.

Download the suspicious image to your desktop. Go to Google Image. Click on the camera icon in the search box. Upload the image. Your image will be matched to other websites who've used that same image. Pay close attention to the website dates; make sure your image was not used in earlier news stories.

Has the image been Photoshopped? FotoForensics is a tool that uses error level analysis (ELA) to identify parts of an image that may have been modified or “photoshopped”.
