Philosophical writing differs from other writing. In a philosophy paper, one must make a reasoned defense of some claim.
Virtues of a good philosophy paper include:
1. Claims must be defended, reasons must be offered;
2. Modesty--should make a small point;
3. Originality;
4. Clarity, simplicity, straightforwardness;
5. Logical organization.
Think of this LibGuide as a map: it will help you to determine the lay of the land, so to speak, offering guidance, tools, and resources to help you write your philosophy paper.
