Following graduation from LVC with an economics degree, Reider entered the insurance industry, primarily with Aetna. In 1995, he was appointed insurance commissioner for Connecticut and later served a term as president of the National Association of Insurance Commissioners. Reider served on the College’s Board of Trustees from 1995 to 2013.
