How to Access the Full-Text of the New York Times

The New York Times

What is a NYTimes Academic Pass?

A Academic Pass allows LVC faculty, students, and staff full access to the NYT website and most of its digital content.

What is included in the NYTimes Academic Pass?

  • Full access to
  • TimesMachine.  Searchable, browsable page scans of every issue of The New York Times published between 1851 and 2002
  • Access to New York Times archives, dating back to 1851.  Search capabilities are, however, rather clunky.  You're better off accessing  The New York Times 1980-present content from The New York Times | Current tab.  For access to The New York Times from 1851 to three years prior from today's date, use the The New York Times | Historical tab.
  • Podcasts, including the "Daily" podcast
  • NYT Videos
  • Newsletters

What is not included?

Passes do not include e-reader editions, Times Premier content or digital versions of The New York Times Crossword. NYTimes apps are not supported on all devices.
