ENG 120: Introduction to Literature

Professor Bongiovanni, Fall 2013

Where Do I Find...?

Find background information in reference sources.  Reference materials, which consist of subject encyclopedias, handbooks, and dictionaries provide the following types of information on virtually any topic:

  • Reliable background information
  • Factual overviews
  • Biographical information
  • Dates, timelines, events, people related to your topic
  • Literary criticism
  • A list of further readings, normally found at the end of encylopedia articles.  Use these references as a springboard for further research.

Find print reference sources behind the popular movie DVD collection.
