The One Book, One Community: Our Region Reads Campaign is Central Pennsylvania's regional reading campaign.
This year the campaign reflects collaboration among seven counties: Berks, Cumberland, Dauphin, Lancaster, Lebanon, Perry and York Counties, along with the State Library, Harrisburg Area Community College libraries and Lebanon Valley College Library. The partnership represents 93+ libraries and two bookmobiles in a combined community of over two million people.
This project marks the tenth year that the library systems have collaborated in a regional community campaign. Campaign organizers are constantly enlisting support from media, booksellers, colleges, universities, and community partners.
The One Book, One Community: Our Region Reads Campaign expanded to multi counties in 2004, thus offering a broader regional scope than one and two county efforts by Lancaster/York (2003) and Dauphin/Cumberland Counties (2002 & 2003) in delivering “One Book” community read campaigns.
